Dr. Lenora Ivy is a Licensed Psychologist who provides psychotherapy to adults, adolescents, and tweens. She uses Solution-Focused Brief Therapy, Cognitive-Behavioral Therapy, and other evidenced-based treatments to treat a variety of mental health concerns including, but not limited to, anxiety, depression, inattention/hyperactivity, adjustment to life transitions, workplace/school concerns, anger, identity-related concerns, and relationship challenges.
Dr. Ivy uses science and creativity to guide clients, of all ages, toward healing, knowledge, and empowerment. She views clients holistically, aims to validate clients’ experiences, and helps clients move toward identifying solutions that will allow them to live the lives they desire. The process of healing and change frequently requires clients to step outside of their comfort zones; with that in mind, Dr. Ivy creates safe, nonjudgmental spaces for her clients by respecting their individual journeys, highlighting clients’ personal strengths, incorporating clients’ interests in treatment, and being authentic.
One of Dr. Ivy’s favorite quotes is by author, Maya Angelou—People will forget what you said, people will forget what you did, but people will never forget how you made them feel. Although she anticipates her clients will remember some of what was said and done during treatment, Dr. Ivy's approach to life and work with clients is rooted in her desire for others to feel heard, respected, supported, valued, and ultimately empowered.
Dr. Ivy obtained her Doctoral Degree in School Psychology from the University of Central Arkansas where she gained experience in providing psychological services to adult and youth populations through practicum rotations in private practice, juvenile justice, university, and school settings. She completed her doctoral psychology internship and post-doctoral fellowship with the Dallas Independent School District Psychological and Social Services Department where she later served as the Doctoral Psychology Internship Program Director and Crisis Response Team Leader. Dr. Ivy has experience in providing psychological services to adults, children, and families in a variety of settings. For nearly a decade, she has served clients in a therapeutic and/or academic capacity.
Dr. Ivy enjoys creating. She is the founder of a platform that promotes kindness and positivity, a published author, the creator of a webcomic series, and enjoys DIY projects/crafts. She also finds joy in reading, trying new recipes, and spending time with her family and friends.
